Vaibhavi Merchant (born December 17, 1975 ) is a Bollywood dance choreographer.

Life

She began her career with the support of her uncle, the choreographer Chinni Prakash , and made her debut as an actress in Snehapoorvam Anna , but returned to her roots as a choreographer.

Her first solo work was the choreography for the song "Dhol Baaje" for the film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam . She won a National Film Award for her work.

After a short break from the film industry, she made a successful comeback in 2001 with the song "O Ri Chhori" in the Oscar-nominated film Lagaan .

She has also been a choreographer in outstanding films such as Devdas , Baghban , Fida , Dhoom and Veer-Zaara . She also choreographed the Australian musical The Merchants of Bollywood , written by Toby Gough about her family, and "Kajra Re" from Bunty Aur Babli , one of the most popular songs of 2005. She won several awards for its choreography.

Besides David Dhawan and Isha Koppikar she was also on the jury of "Nach Baliye 3".
