Courage to decide - Lakshya (Eng. Target) is an Indian war film by Farhan Akhtar from 2004. This Hindi film is set against the backdrop of the Kargil War .

action

Karan Shergil is a young man who has no plans for the future. His girlfriend Romila, on the other hand, is very ambitious and committed. One day Karan decides to do something with his life and joins the military against his parents' wishes. However, he does not take the situation in the military seriously and breaks off his training after a few days. His family is disappointed in him and his girlfriend Romila doesn't want anything to do with him anymore. Karan then decides to rejoin the military and this time to try harder.

After a long training he is an officer and is sent to the front in the mountains of Kashmir . Romila got her dream job as a journalist on television during that time. Karan's task is to conquer a strategically important mountain peak under the command of Col. Sunil Damles, which is occupied by Pakistani troops. Romila, who is now engaged, is also there to do reports for television.

Karan succeeds in conquering the summit after tough resistance with heavy losses in his troops.
