Aaja Nachle ( Hindi : आजा नचल, translated: Come on, let's dance ) is a Bollywood film with Madhuri Dixit in her comeback role. She was most recently seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's epic Devdas - Flame of Our Love . Even though Madhuri Dixit was one of the most popular actresses of the 1990s, the film flopped at the box office.

Dia is a passionate dancer from Shimla . In her home country she appears regularly with other village girls in the open-air theater "Ajanta". One day she falls in love with the American photographer Steve, with whom she ultimately escapes to New York before she has to enter into the arranged marriage with Mohan. In America, cultural differences become a problem and the two are separating.
11 years later, Dia received a message from Shimla informing her that the Ajanta Theater was being demolished to make way for a shopping mall.
She is now traveling to India with her daughter Radha and facing parliamentarian Raja Uday Singh and his investor Farooque. Eventually she can negotiate an agreement with Raja: She has to put on a performance in which only villagers are allowed to act as actors. If she achieves this, the mall project will be put on hold.
Dia opts for the oriental classic Laila Majnu and finds her leading actors in Imran and Anokhi. Nevertheless, the search turns out to be extremely difficult, as there is hardly any support in the village. But Dia does not give up, and success proves her right. The performance of the tragic love story is cheered and the Ajanta Theater is saved.

The songs Soniye Mil Ja , Is Pal and Koi Patthar Se Na Maare can be heard in conjunction with the theater performance. On the other hand, songs like Yeh Ishq cannot even be heard in the soundtrack.

- The film shows the 20-minute performance of the classic "Laila Majnu" in poetic and vocal form.
- The song Koi Patthar Se Na Maare has been re-recorded. It was already used in the film version from 1976 ( Laila Majnu (1976) ) with Rishi Kapoor in the leading role as a film song.
