Thomas Rauschenbach

Thomas Rauschenbach (born December 14, 1952 in Tübingen ) is a German educational scientist and has headed the German Youth Institute in Munich since 2002 .

Live and act

From 1971 to 1978, Rauschenbach studied educational science, sociology and psychology at the University of Tübingen . In 1981 he received his doctorate in educational science as Dr. rer. soc. with Hans Thiersch .

From 1980 to 1983 he worked as a research assistant and managing director at the Institute for Educational Science I at the University of Tübingen and from 1983 to 1989 there as an academic adviser in the field of social education. Since 1989 he has held the chair for social pedagogy at Faculty 12 Educational Science and Sociology at the Technical University of Dortmund and has been on leave there since 2002.

Thomas Rauschenbach has been director and board member of the German Youth Institute since 2002.

In 2008 he was appointed to the board of trustees of the non-profit Bertelsmann Foundation , of which he was a member until 2015. He brought his educational expertise to various projects.
