Hans Thiersch

Hans Thiersch (born May 16, 1935 in Recklinghausen ) is a professor emeritus for educational science and social pedagogy at the University of Tübingen since 2002 . At the end of the 1970s, Thiersch coined the term lifeworld orientation in social work.

Life

Thiersch studied philology, philosophy, theology and education; In 1961 he became a research assistant to Heinrich Roth at the University of Göttingen. 1967-1970 he was a professor at the University of Education in Kiel. 1970 until his retirement in 2002 he was professor for educational science and social pedagogy at the University of Tübingen.

He is married and has four kids.
