action

Only Your Heart Knows the Truth is about a young man named Jai. He is very rich and uses his money to support charitable causes. One day his cousin Anita takes him to a school for the deaf and mute, which Jai supports with his money - and there he meets the teacher Tia and immediately falls in love with her. He seeks her closeness by helping her wherever he can - and he believes Tia will reciprocate his feelings. When Jai confesses his feelings to her, it is revealed that Tia already has a fiancé named Raj, whom she eventually marries.

Jai is devastated and drowns his heartache in alcohol after several attempts to win Tia over fail. When he drives drunk, there is an accident in which Jai's cousin Anita dies; in the other car are Tia and Raj, who is dead on the spot. Tia survives seriously injured and loses her memory.

The doctors fear that Tia will not be able to cope with her memories of her past life and recommend that Tia's mother take her to a place where nothing will remind her of her past life. Jai wants to take care of Tia and offers the mother to take them both to South Africa, where mother and daughter can live with Jai.

Tia's mother agrees for Tia's sake - she hates Jai for stealing her son-in-law. Raj's and Tia's son Anshu is passed off as Jai's and Anita's son, who is said to be "aunt" Tia very fond of him and that she should take care of Anshu in Anita's place so that he doesn't miss his mother so much.

After arriving in Africa, Jai lives under one roof with Tia, Anshu and their mother. Tia's mother notices that Tia is beginning to fall in love with Jai and warns him not to try anything inappropriate. Jai takes care of Tia, but gives her the cold shoulder whenever she tries to make advances to him. Even when Jai's father tries to pair his son with Tia, Jai, even though he loves Tia more than anything, refuses.

Finally, after much persuasion, Tia's mother gives her daughter permission to marry. Tia believes that by giving her consent, she can induce Jai to marry her, but the situation between her and Jai escalates. Tia flees and Jai follows her - after a chase he brings her car to a standstill and an argument ensues, during which Tia learns the truth: that Anshu is her own son and that she has a deceased husband.

Jai's father, who has meanwhile also arrived with Tia's mother, explains that Jai loves Tia more than anything, but out of guilt, he hopes that Tia will regain her memory to inflict whatever punishment Jai may wish.

Instead, Tia forgives him on the grounds that the past should rest, since she does not remember it anyway, and she decides to leave with Anshu Jai in order not to be a burden to him any longer. Jai stops her: he wants to be a father to Anshu, Tia finally confesses his love and asks her to marry him. Tia agrees and the two finally get their happy ending .
