Corneille (singer)
Corneille (aka Cornélius Nyungura, born March 24, 1977 in Freiburg im Breisgau , Germany ) is a Rwandan - Canadian R'n'B singer.
Corneille was born to Rwandan parents in Germany. He returned to Rwanda with his family at the age of seven. His parents and siblings were killed during the Rwandan genocide in 1994, after which he returned to Germany and eventually moved to Montreal , Canada. There he founded the R'n'B band ONE in 2002, he started his solo career and achieved chart positions in France and Switzerland with his album Parce qu'on vient de loin , which was released in September 2002 . In 2005 he was one of the guests at the anti- malaria festival Africa Live in Dakar, organized by Youssou N'Dour .
In 2014 he took part in the fifth season of the French dance show Danse avec les stars .
