Florent Pagny
Florent Pagny (born November 6, 1961 in Chalon-sur-Saône , France ) is a French singer . He has also worked as an actor a. a. 1986 in The Woman of My Life by the Side of Jane Birkin . In 2005 he performed on Live 8 in Paris .
Life
Pagny was born in Chalon-sur-Saône in 1961, his father was a carpenter and his mother a secretary . He grew up with a brother and two sisters. Interest in music was sparked by his mother, who dreamed of a career as an opera singer. After the family moved to Bonneville (Haute-Savoie) in 1972 , Pagny found it difficult to integrate into the new area. So he sought fulfillment in stage appearances and took part in amateur competitions and competitions at local radio stations. At 16 he left school and moved to Paris to begin a career as a musician and actor. After some casual jobs, he entered the Conservatory of Levallois-Perret to take singing lessons and worked nights as a bartender where he Dominique Besnehard met. This gave him the first film roles in La Balance - The Treason and in Fort Saganne . He signed a record deal and released the single N'importe quoi in 1988 , which reached number 1 on the French charts and sold over a million times. The following single, Laisser Nous Respirer, cemented Pagny's image as an icon of youth rebellion. His third single Comme d'habitude was a reinterpretation of a vaudeville - classic by Claude François . Finally, in the spring of 1990, Pagny's debut album Merci was released . Although the media attention focused more on his relationship with Vanessa Paradis , he achieved a notable success with the album.
In 1992, the second album, Réaliste , was released, which was viewed as melancholy and incoherent and audibly influenced before his breakup with Vanessa Paradis. After poor sales figures, Pagny withdrew from the public for two years in order to present itself with new energy with the next album Rester vrai in 1994 . Commercial success returned with the single releases from the 1995 best-of album Bienvenue chez moi , and the title track of his 1997 album Savoir aimer again reached number 1 in the French charts. Pagny was named best male artist at the Victoires de la Musique in 1998. At the end of 1999 Pagny surprised with the album RéCréation , which contained new recordings of well-known French chansons . After Châtelet les Halles (2000) followed with 2 an album on the Pagny duets with artists such as Pascal Obispo and Axel Bauer afforded. The next bestseller followed in 2003 with Ailleursland . The following year Pagny was accused of tax evasion and the film Quand Je Vois le Soleil was a failure. With the Baryton released at the end of 2004, Pagny showed his fondness for opera music , while the following album Abracadabra was again inspired by chanson. The 2007 album Pagny chante Brel contained Pagny's interpretation of songs by the Belgian chansonnier Jacques Brel . In 2010 his studio album Tout et son contraire was released , and in 2012 the live album Live acoustique . His two albums Baryton. Gracias a la vida (2012) and Habana (2016) were influenced by Latin American elements. The 2013 studio album Vieillir avec toi was created in collaboration with Calogero .
