Jacques Dutronc (* 28. April 1943 in Paris ) is a French cabaret singer and the César excellent actor . He has been married to the singer Françoise Hardy since 1981 .

Life

From 1963 to 1964 Dutronc was guitarist in the group El Toro et les Cyclones , which recorded several EPs. After compulsory military service, he worked as an assistant to Jacques Wolfsohn, the artistic director of Vogue Records. As such, he arranged songs for various lesser known artists such as Zou Zou and Cleo. In late 1965 or early 1966 he was introduced to Jacques Lanzmann ; the two should write songs for artists who should be launched as future stars. One day after Wolfsohn had heard the demos that Dutronc had prepared for a song, he suggested that Dutronc should play the final version of the song himself. Et moi, et moi, et moi appeared in 1966 and became a huge success in France.

The duo Lanzmann (text) and Dutronc (music) created numerous classics of French pop, including Et moi, et moi, et moi , Les Playboys , Le cactus or Il est cinq heures, Paris s'éveille (with the classical flautist Roger Bourdin ). Dutronc has often been compared to Ray Davies of the Kinks . What distinguishes Dutronc from other singers of his time is above all his ironic or parodying distance. He celebrates youth and at the same time mocks them.

With the film Antoine et Sébastien (director: Jean-Marie Périer) in 1973 Dutronc began a second career as an actor. He played under Jean-Luc Godard , Claude Lelouch , Andrzej Żuławski , Maurice Pialat and many other well-known directors of French cinema. He then devoted himself more to film than music, but continued to produce songs. Dutronc was seen as the husband of Romy Schneider in Nachtblende (1975). In 1976 he was seen again alongside Schneider in Mado . In addition, he played alongside Isabelle Huppert in Save yourself, who can (life) or the title role in Van Gogh (1991), which shows the painter's last three months. For this leading role he received the most important French film award, the César .

Jacques Dutronc lives in Monticello in Corsica . With his wife Françoise Hardy he has a son, Thomas Dutronc (born 1973), who is also a musician and actor. Father and son have worked together on several albums.
