Francis Girod

Francis Girod (born February 9, 1944 in Semblançay , Indre-et-Loire department , † November 19, 2006 in Bordeaux ) was a French film director , screenwriter , university teacher and producer .

He grew up in Brussels and initially studied journalism. From 2002 until his death, Girod was a member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts as the successor to Claude Autant-Lara . In 2005 he was accepted into the French Legion of Honor .

Girod died of a heart attack on the night of November 19, 2006 and was buried on the Cimetière Montparnasse .
