Isabelle Boulay

Isabelle Boulay (* 6. July 1972 in Sainte-Félicité , Quebec , Canada ) is a French-Canadian pop - and chanson - singer .

Career

Her career began when she was registered against her will by friends for the Petite-Vallée Chanson Festival in 1990 . She achieved great success. In 1991 she took part in the renowned Granby Chanson Festival , which she won with her interpretation of Jacques Brels Amsterdam . In the same year she was invited to the Festival Francofolies in Montréal .

In 1993 she started for Radio Canada at the Truffe de Périgueux Festival in Périgord , France. There she won the competition category Chanson francophone ( chansons from the Francophonie ). In the following years she was promoted by Luc Plamondon and Francis Cabrel , among others .

In 1996 she released her first solo album with Fallait pas , which has since been followed by twelve more, most recently the studio album Les grands espaces in 2011 . Her albums also include a live album called Du temps pour toi, recorded at Olympia in Paris .
