Max Ritter (swimmer)

Max Ritter (born November 7, 1886 in Magdeburg , † May 24, 1974 in Jenkintown ) was a German swimmer and founding member of the international swimming federation FINA .

He took part as a swimmer at the 1908 Olympic Games in London and the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm . In 1911 he emigrated to the USA . From 1936 on, Ritter held various positions on the FINA Presidium and was its President from 1960 to 1964. In 1965 he was inducted into the hall of fame of international swimming .
