Renan Luce (born March 5, 1980 in Paris ) is a French singer-songwriter .

biography

Renan Luce was born in Paris on March 5, 1980, but spent his entire childhood and youth in Plourin-lès-Morlaix , a small town in Brittany.

After graduating from high school, he attended the two compulsory preparatory classes for the Grande école at the Lycée Saint-Vincent in Rennes. During this time he already had his first appearances in bars and at music festivals. At the end of these two years, he enrolled at the Toulouse Business School ( e.g. business school ). During his studies Renan Luce composed his first chansons, which were published on a CD, the proceeds of which went to a school in Madagascar.

After completing his studies, he moved to Paris and decided relatively quickly to devote himself exclusively to his career as a singer and composer. He signed his first recording contract with Barclay Records in late 2005 .

His first studio album , Repenti , was released in September 2006 , from which four singles were released ( Les voisines , 2006, La Lettre , 2007, Repenti , 2008 and Monsieur Marcel , 2008).

Since it has only appeared in francophone countries so far, it is largely unknown in Germany. In France, on the other hand, his album Repenti received platinum status in December 2007 with over 250,000 copies sold .

Renan Luce was married to the writer Lolita Séchan from July 31, 2009 to 2016. The two have a daughter, Héloïse.
