After two years in Great Britain, Maxim Birbrajer returned to his native Kazakhstan in 2008, where he played for Kaszink-Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk in the Wysschaja Liga , the second Russian division. In January 2009, the attacker signed a contract with the German second division team Heilbronner Falken , which was not extended at the end of the season, despite good performances and twelve points, four of which were goals in 22 games. Since the 2009/10 season he has been back on the ice for the Cardiff Devils in the EIHL. On October 24, 2009 he set a new league record for the EIHL with seven assists in one game. In 2014 he moved to the Telford Tigers , with whom he won the championship and cup competition of the English Premier Ice Hockey League in 2015 . In 2016 he moved on to the Swindon Wildcats , with whom he won the Autumn Cup and the National Cup of the National Ice Hockey League in 2018 .
