I Muvrini
I Muvrini is the most famous music group in Corsica . It was founded in 1977 and consists of the brothers Alain Bernardini, Jean-François Bernardini and other musicians. The group's first album was released in 1979.
Career
I Muvrini ( Corsican for "The Mouflons ") are in the tradition of Corsican folk music, especially the polyphonic paghjella ; They use the piano, bagpipes, guitar, violin, hurdy-gurdy , keyboards and drums to accompany them. The group sings mostly in Corsican and French .
The Bernardini brothers come from the village of Taglio-Isolaccio in Castagniccia in the northeast of the island from a well-known family of musicians. You have appeared on stage with Sting , Stephan Eicher and the French rapper MC Solaar and worked with international interpreters of the folk scene, Laïs (Belgium), Lluís Llach (Spain) and Pyx Lax (Greece). In 2007 they performed at the Nokia Night of the Proms . The group has been involved in politics and social projects for some time, such as the establishment of a Corsica foundation.
