Christophe Willem
Christophe Willem (born August 3, 1983 in Enghien-les-Bains , France ; actually Christophe Durier ) is a French singer and winner of the French program Nouvelle Star in 2006.
biography
Christophe Durier spent most of his childhood and youth in Deuil-la-Barre , Val-d'Oise , where his parents own a driving school. At the age of seven he began to learn the piano, seven years later he devoted himself to jazz and gospel singing.
In November 2005, he attended the casting of Nouvelle Star, the French edition of Germany is looking for the superstar , after his sister registered him there. He convinced the jury with an improvised choreography of the song Strong Enough by Des'ree .
After nine weeks he won against the finalist Miss Dominique (real: Dominique Michalon) and was chosen as the 2006 Nouvelle Star .
On April 16, 2007 he released his debut album Inventaire under the name Christophe Willem , on which he worked with Philippe Katerine , Zazie , Bertrand Burgalat and Valérie Lemercier , among others . His first tour was immediately completely sold out.
The first album excerpt, Élu produit de l'année , was not played often by radio stations, and so his record company decided not to release it as a single. Therefore, on May 25, 2007, a remix of Double was released as a single CD. Double was previously the most downloaded song for the week of April 15-21.
Christophe Willems album Inventaire went double platinum and Double ever sold almost 100,000 copies in the first three weeks.
