Julien Doré
Julien Doré (born July 7, 1982 in Alès , Gard ) is a French rock and pop singer .
Life
Doré won the fifth season of the French casting show Nouvelle Star in 2007 . Originally he only wanted to use the show to advertise his rock band Dig Up Elvis, but was then able to get through to the finale with an unusual selection of songs and finally win. He repeatedly adapted songs by singers like Like a Virgin by Madonna, … Baby One More Time by Britney Spears and Moi… Lolita by Alizée as jazz or acoustic versions. The latter title also became his first single after the win and thus narrowly missed the top of the French charts, but was number 1 in Belgium for four weeks .
Parallel to his solo career, he is also sticking to his band Dig Up Elvis and at the end of 2007 he went on a concert tour with them. It was not until June 2008 that his first solo album Ersatz was released. In 2009 he recorded the title Helsinki in a duet with the ex- Nouvelle Vague singer Mélanie Pain . The track, released on the Pain album My Name and the collective compilation Le Pop 5 , was also released as a single.
In 2013 he played the black metal singer Alex in the comedy Happy Metal - All We Need Is Love!
