Amandine Bourgeois (born June 12, 1979 in Angoulême ) is a French singer . She won the sixth season of the French talent show Nouvelle Star in 2007 and represented France at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest .

life and career

Amandin Bourgeois' father as well as her stepfather are musicians and influence their musical development. She learned music at the age of seven and flute at the age of nine at the Nice Conservatory . In her teens she formed her first rock group and gave several concerts in Albi , Gaillac and Toulouse . She then attended a hotel management school and worked in luxury hotels in Great Britain and the Balearic Islands. In 2001 she returned to Toulouse and turned back to music, became a singer in several musical groups and got roles in the two musicals "Le Casting" (2005) and "The Wall" (2006).

In 2007 she was contacted by the production team for the casting show Nouvelle Star via her website on Myspace, which contains compositions and musical interpretations. In Toulouse she presented herself to the jury and is accepted. In the spring of 2008 she won the sixth season of the talent show Nouvelle Star . Eleven months later, at the end of May 2009, her debut album “20 m²” was released. According to Radio Europe 1, the title alludes to the room in which she retired to write the songs with her boyfriend. After winning at Nouvelle Star , she turned down the offer of her record company Sony to record an album with cover versions because it was "not her nature". Most of the songs on the produced album were written by Amandine Bourgeois herself and her friend Guillaume Soulan, some numbers are by Ariane Moffatt and Jeanne Cherhal .

On January 22nd, 2013 it was announced that Bourgeois France will represent France with the song L'enfer et moi (Eng. Hell and I ) at the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö. Your title was selected by a twelve-person jury. Bourgeois reached the final and finally finished 23rd out of 26 finalists.
