Martine Clémenceau
Martine Clémenceau (born March 18, 1949 ) is a French pop and chanson singer .
Her career started in 1971 with the victory at the World Popular Song Festival in Tokyo with the hit Un Jour L'Amour . She was selected to compete for France at the Concours Eurovision de la Chanson 1973 in Luxembourg . With the chanson Sans Toi she landed in 15th place.
Her greatest success was the 1981 pop single Solitaire , the English version sung by Laura Branigan in 1983, a worldwide hit. The German version More and more - including an LP of the same name with eight compositions by Clémenceau - was sung by the Italian singer Milva in 1982 . In the 1990s, Clémenceau was active as a composer, especially for the singer Herbert Léonard .
