Winthrop Palmer
Winthrop Hale "Ding" Palmer junior (born December 5, 1906 in Summit , New Jersey , † February 4, 1970 in Madison , Connecticut ) was an American ice hockey player .
Career
Winthrop Palmer attended Yale University , for whose ice hockey team he was active from 1927 to 1930. He then played amateur ice hockey for the St. Nicholas Hockey Club. He settled in Connecticut after his hockey career and worked as a stockbroker . In 1973 he was posthumously honored with induction into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame .
International
For the United States , Palmer took part in the 1932 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid , where he won the silver medal with his team. At the 1933 World Cup he won the gold medal with the USA.
