Madame Monsieur is a French pop duo made up of the couple Émilie Satt and Jean-Karl Lucas. The two won the French preliminary decision Destination Eurovision 2018 and represented France with the song Mercy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon .

history

Émilie Satt and Jean-Karl Lucas met for the first time in 2008 and founded their band Madame Monsieur in 2013. Two years later they wrote the song Smile for the French rapper Youssoupha , which was a great success in France. In the same year they appeared on television on the music show Taratata . Her first album Tandem was released on November 4th, 2016.

On January 1st, 2018 it was announced that Madame Monsieur will take part in the French preliminary round of the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Mercy . In the second semi-final on January 20, 2018, they qualified first for the final. At the final on January 27, 2018, Madame Monsieur landed in third place after the jury voting, but were able to win the televoting of the French viewers and thus landed in first place. At the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon they finally landed in 13th place.
