Jean Gabilou
Jean Gabilou , even John Gabilou (* 28. February 1944 in Papeete as Gabriel Lewis Laughlin ) is a French-Polynesian pop singer .
Growing up in Tahiti , he sang in hotels and holiday clubs from the early 1960s. Together with friends he founded the group Barefoot Boys with whom he released his first successful single in 1968. He came under contract with Barclay in the 1970s and so some of his singles appeared. He was asked to represent France at the 1981 Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin . With the hit Humanahum he reached third place.
Back in Tahiti he remained active as a singer until the 2000s.
