Kali (singer)

Kali (* 21st February 1956 in Fort-de-France as Jean-Marc Monnerville ) is a French singer and banjo poker players from Martinique .

His debut album was released in 1989. He represented France at the 1992 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden with his Zouk song Monté la riviè ( Eng : go up the river ) and came eighth of 22 places with 73 points.

He released several albums of Caribbean music with often socially critical texts in Creole .
