Amaury Vassili
Amaury Vassili (born June 8, 1989 in Rouen , Normandy ) is a French tenor . His debut album Vincero from 2009 went platinum in France and, like the follow-up album Canterò from 2010, was internationally successful.
biography
At the age of nine, Vassili was enrolled in a music school in Rouen by his mother. At the age of 14, he entered his first singing competition.
Vassili made his career breakthrough in 2009 with his first album Vincero , which sold more than 250,000 times in France and made it to ninth place in the national album charts. Vincero was also successful abroad, including in the Walloon charts in Belgium. The second album Cantero , which came out in November 2010 , also broke the mark of 250,000 records sold .
On January 27, 2011, the French media company France Télévisions announced that Vassili would be competing for France in the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf . It was previously determined by an internal jury. At the final on May 14, 2011, Vassili sang his song Sognu (German: dream) in Corsican language . He reached 15th place. In the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku he read the French scoring.
