Nora, a 12-year-old girl, will start sixth grade at Högalidsskolan after the summer holidays . She herself is in the transition from childhood to puberty. Suddenly she shows interest in lingerie, cigarettes and other things of adult life. Emotionally, too, she fluctuates between a bad and a good mood.
When the new school year begins, Nora has to find herself in her class collective again. In addition to the outsider Karin, who is teased by everyone, there are also the cool beauties Fanny and Sabina in the class. Nora herself joins various groups and sometimes plays them off against each other. She gets caught in a vortex of secrets and intrigues.

After the film had its Swedish theatrical release on October 17, 1997, it was submitted as a contribution to the 1998 Berlinale and awarded an honorable mention by the children's jury . Although further theatrical releases took place on November 6, 1998 in Norway and on January 15, 1999 in Denmark, the film was not further distributed outside Scandinavia. There was no DVD release in Germany. However, two television performances are known. The film was shown on March 27, 1999 on KI.KA and on January 22, 2005 on ARD .
