Guldbagge : Best Director
Winner of the Swedish Guldbagge Film Award in the Best Director category ( Bästa regi ). The Swedish Film Institute has been presenting its awards every year since 1964 for the best film productions and filmmakers of the previous year at the end of January and the beginning of February at a gala that alternates between Stockholm and Gothenburg .
The most successful in this category were the Swedish directors Hans Alfredson (1975, 1982 and 1986) and Kjell Grede (1968, 1988 and 1991), each with three awards, followed by Tomas Alfredson , Roy Andersson , Ingmar Bergman and Lukas Moodysson , Jan Troell and Bo Widerberg with two wins each. As the only filmmakers from non-Scandinavian countries, the Icelandic Hrafn Gunnlaugsson ( The Sunken Empire ) in 1985 and the British Colin Nutley ( Fannys Farm ) in 1993 were able to join the list of winners.
