Karl Fredrik Lukas Moodysson ( pronunciation : [ ˌlʉːkas ˈmɔdːysɔn ], born January 17, 1969 in Malmö ) is a Swedish writer and director .

biography

Shortly after dropping out of school at the age of 17, Lukas Moodysson initially followed his interest in literature and his own writing: his first collection of poems Det spelar ingen roll var blixtarna slår ner (“It doesn't matter where lightning strikes”) appeared. Another five books followed, including the novel Vitt blod ("White Blood").

Lukas Moodysson graduated as a director at the Dramatic Institute ( Dramatiska Institutet ) in Stockholm and then went with his film Show Me Love to the public. This film as well as the following ones, Together! and Lilja 4-ever , received a number of awards.

In 2003 Moodysson was awarded the Stig Dagerman Prize .

Today he lives in Malmö with his wife and three sons .
