Stig Dagerman Prize
The Stig Dagerman Prize (Original: Stig Dagermanpriset ) is a Swedish literary prize . It was founded in 1996 by the Stig Dagerman Society , the Stig Dagermansällskapet , for those "who, in the spirit of Stig Dagerman, are committed to the protection, availability and importance of freedom of expression". The award, endowed with 50,000 crowns, is presented annually in June in Laxön , Älvkarleby . So far, two of the winners, Elfriede Jelinek in 2004 and Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clézio in 2008 , have been honored with the Nobel Prize for Literature in the same year .
