The Murafa ( Ukrainian and Russian Мура́фа , Polish Morachwa ) is a left tributary of the Dniester in Ukraine .
The Murafa has its source southeast of Bar on the Podolian plate . It flows through the Vinnytsia Oblast in a southerly direction and finally flows into the Dniester opposite the Moldovan river bank 5 km west of Jampil .
The Murafa has a length of 163 km. Its catchment area covers 2410 km². It is mainly fed by the snowmelt and floods in spring . The mean discharge 9 km above the mouth is 8.5 m³ / s. Five smaller reservoirs are located on the river.
There is fishing on the middle reaches.
