Bjorn Runge

Björn Lennart Runge (born June 21, 1961 in Lysekil ) is a Swedish film director and screenwriter .

Life

Björn Runge was born in Lysekil , Sweden in 1961 and made his first experiences in the film industry at the age of 20. From 1986 to 1989 he studied directing at the Dramatiska Institutet in Stockholm. In 1996 Runge shot his first feature film with Harry & Sonja .

For his film Om jag vänder mig om , Runge was twice awarded the Guldbagge in 2004, once for best director and once for best screenplay . At the 2004 Berlin Film Festival , this film was awarded the Silver Bear and the Blue Angel for best European film . For his 2004 film Mun mot mun , Runge received the Nordiska Rådets Filmpris the following year . After a lengthy creative break, Runge made the film The Nobel Laureate's Wife, starring Glenn Close and Jonathan Pryce , which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2017 .

Björn Runge's wife is the film editor Lena Runge .
