Magnus von Horn (born December 21, 1983 in Gothenburg , Sweden ) is a Swedish film director and screenwriter .

Life

Magnus von Horn graduated from the State University of Film, Television and Theater Łódź in 2013 . A few months after starting his studies in Poland, von Horn was violently attacked. In keeping with this traumatic experience, he has since dealt mainly with the subject of crime. Since his short film debut in 2006 with Radek, all of his films have received several film awards. His feature film debut Efterskalv from 2015 was about a man who returns to his home community after serving prison terms and fights for forgiveness for his deed. The critical success was honored with several nominations for the Swedish film award Guldbagge , among other things he was awarded as best film and von Horn received an award as best director .

Von Horn is married and lives in Warsaw with his wife and their children .
