Hannes Holm (born November 26, 1962 in Lidingö ) is a Swedish film director , film producer and screenwriter .

Career

Holm's career as a director began in 1987 on the television series Bröderna Olsson . He was responsible for eight episodes as a director for the mini-series S * M * A * S * H , which appeared in 1990 . A few years later he wrote the screenplay for seven episodes for this series. He wrote the script and worked as a director for the Swedish comedy Adam & Eve from 1996. For his film A Man Called Ove , he received an Oscar nomination in the category “ Best Foreign Language Film ” at the 2017 Academy Awards , but had to admit defeat to the Iranian entry The Salesman . At the European Film Awards 2016 he received the award in the category “Best European Comedy” as well as other awards at individual film festivals.

He has worked with Måns Herngren in many of the films in which Holm has participated . They either wrote the script together, produced the film together, or Herngren was used as the actor.
