Reconstruction Utøya is a Swedish documentary by Carl Javér about four Norwegian youths whosurvivedthe terrorist attack on Utøya . The film was produced by Fredrik Lange.
The premiere took place simultaneously in Sweden and Norway on October 19, 2018. The documentary had its international premiere at the Berlinale 2019 .

The film follows the four Norwegian youths Rakel, Mohammed, Jenny and Torje, who meet six years after the attacks in an empty film studio to commemorate and share their experiences from the events of July 22, 2011. They meet there with 12 other Norwegian teenagers who help them to recreate the painful memories. This psychologically accompanied process is about conveying the experiences and documenting them for the future.
reception
In Sweden, the film received consistent critical acclaim. The Swedish director Ruben Östlund found that one could "talk endlessly about why this film is so extremely good and interesting". It would provide material for hours of important conversation.
Awards
At the “Guldbaggegalan” , the documentary was awarded the Swedish Guldbagge Film Prize in 2019 in the categories “Best Documentary” and “Best Director” .
