Since Lindgren also worked as a screenwriter on her novel adaptations , Edfeldt often worked with her. In 1986 she was also the assistant to internationally renowned director Lasse Hallström for the film Die Kinder von Bullerbü . During this time, in front of and behind the camera of Swedish children's and youth films , she developed a certain soft spot for this genre and continued to work in it. She created national and international award-winning works such as Sixten does not give up and Förortsungar . That is why she was awarded the Gullspira in 2007 for the special achievements she has made in the field of Swedish children's films.

She is the mother of the actress Tove Edfeldt , with whom she starred in both The Children of Bullerbü and Eva and Adam - Four Birthdays and a Fiasco . In the former she was also an assistant director. As it seemed practical, her then two-year-old daughter was also cast as a film daughter . In the latter, she was responsible as a director, which is why not only Tove played, but also her second daughter Fanny Edfeldt got a role.
