Noomi Rapace
Noomi Rapace [ noːmɪ Rapas ] (* 28 December 1979 as Noomi Norén in Hudiksvall ) is a Swedish actress . She became internationally known for starring Lisbeth Salander in the first film adaptation of the Millennium Trilogy by Swedish author Stieg Larsson .
biography
Noomi Rapace's mother is the Swedish actress Kristina "Nina" Norén, her father the Spanish flamenco singer Rogelio Durán (1953–2007). After her parents separated, she moved to Iceland with her mother and stepfather at the age of five . Rapace has two half-siblings. Since her stepfather worked with horses and was involved in filming, she got a small role in the film The Shadow of the Raven in 1988 at the age of seven . She attended a Waldorf school and moved to Stockholm at the age of 15 . After small appearances in the mid-1990s in the Swedish television series Tre kronor and the feature film I could have said no , she studied acting at Skara Skolscen from 1998 to 1999. She then worked at several Swedish theaters - Teater Plaza (2000–2001), Orionteatern (2001), Teater Galeasen (2002) and Stockholm City Theater (2003). Rapace's first success as a film actress brought her the Danish feature film Daisy Diamond (2007), in which she is seen as a young Swedish mother who dreams of an acting career in Denmark. The part of Anna brought her with a Bodil and a Robert Denmark's most important film awards.
Rapace became known to an international audience through the film adaptation of the Millennium crime series by the Swedish author Stieg Larsson, in which she played the role of Lisbeth Salander. The film for the first volume, Verblendung , was released in 2009 and earned her a nomination for the European Film Awards and the Swedish Guldbagge for best leading actress . In 2010 she was also nominated for numerous US film awards. Rapace not only had to change her appearance for this role (her hair was cut short, the facial piercings were real - but the big tattoo was n't), she also had to learn to ride a motorcycle and kickboxing . In 2009 and 2010 she also played Lisbeth Salander in the two sequels Damnation and Forgiveness .
In September 2010, it was announced that Rapace had received a leading role alongside Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr. in the second part of the remake of the Sherlock Holmes films . In it she played the gypsy Madam Simza Heron. She then worked on Passion , Brian De Palma's English-language remake of Alain Corneau's Love and Intrigue (2010), which premiered at the Venice Film Festival and opened in Germany in early May 2013. She took a starring role in the movie Prometheus - by Ridley Scott , the 2012 was released. In the same year she starred in the music video Doom And Gloom of the Rolling Stones the lead role. In Dead Man Down , which was shown in German cinemas from April 2013, she starred alongside Colin Farrell .
Rapace was married to fellow actor Ola Rapace from 2001 to 2011 , with whom she has a son.
Since Verblende , Rapace has been dubbed by Sandra Schwittau in German-speaking countries , Vera Teltz lent her voice for Prometheus .
