Seven years ago, Lizzie Manning lost her daughter in an accident. She never really dealt with this stroke of fate and has suffered from mental problems ever since. She is in therapy, but has no control over herself. Which is why her ex-husband Mike tries to get sole custody of their son Thomas. After she thinks she recognizes her daughter in the strange girl Lola, over time she seems to lose the feeling for reality when she begins to believe that her daughter is still alive. She pushes her way more and more into the lives of Lola's parents Claire and Bernard.
