Betty Mars

Betty Mars (born July 30, 1944 in Paris as Yvette Baheux , † February 20, 1989 in Suresnes ) was a French singer and actress .

Life

As the youngest of ten children, she was already active in dance and acrobatics shows as a teenager. In 1971 she recorded her first record. She was selected shortly afterwards to represent her country at the 1972 Eurovision de la Chanson Grand Prix in Edinburgh . Her chanson Comé-comedie reached 11th place.

After the Grand Prix, other singles of her appeared. She also had minor film roles in the 1970s. She starred in the 1975 soft sex film Emilienne .

Presumably due to personal or financial problems, she attempted suicide by jumping out of the window of her apartment in La Défense . She died three weeks later, on February 20, 1989, in the Hôpital Foch in Suresnes.
