Superbus is a French pop rock band that was formed in 1999. The band found the name while leafing through a Latin dictionary - “superbus” means “proud”, “cocky”.

history

In 1999 singer Jennifer Ayache was looking for musicians to form a band. She met the guitarist Michel Giovanetti and the bassist François Even, who already played together in another band. After the founding of Superbus, the band initially played in threesome for a while, but soon took on another guitarist and a drummer. After these two were replaced by Patrice Focone and Guillaume Roussé, the band had found their formation for the next few years. In 2005 Guillaume Roussé left the band and was replaced by Greg Jacks.

After Superbus got a record deal with Mercury Records , they released their first album Aéromusical in March 2002 . The album gained increasing popularity, especially through the band's concerts, and eventually reached number 85 in the French album charts. The debut single Tchi-cum-bah rose to number 59. The follow-up album Pop 'n' Gum , which the band had produced by David Salsedo like Aéromusical, was released in June 2004 and reached number 26. The third and current work Wow , in October Released in 2006, Superbus also worked as a co-producer for the first time. Wow reached number 6 in the French album charts.

The main influences of Superbus are No Doubt , Garbage , blink-182 and Weezer . The band's lyrics are in French and English .
