Georg Pasor
Georg Pasor or Georg Paysor or Georgius Pasor (born August 1, 1570 in Ellar , † December 10, 1637 in Franeker ) was professor of languages and theology at the Calvinist High Schools in Herborn and Franeker , Netherlands .

Georg Pasor was born into a civil servant family in Ellar as the son of the Nassau mayor Johannes Pasor and his wife Klara.
In 1598 he married Apollonia Hendsch in Siegen , with whom he had six children. His wife and four daughters died in a plague epidemic in 1614. In 1615 he married the widow Madgalena Sengel nee Behr.
His wife Madgalena died in 1631. Georg Pasor died at the age of 67 in Franeker.
Career
Pasor studied in Herborn, first at the pedagogy, from 1591 on with Johannes Piscator at the high school. In 1592 he traveled to Lausanne and Geneva . He finished his studies in 1594 in Siegen, where the high school and the pedagogy had been moved from Herborn. From 1595 he worked as a private tutor in Dillenburg. In 1597 he was appointed to the Pedagogy Siegen, whose direction he held until 1620. At the high school he became a professor of Hebrew .
In the turmoil of the Thirty Years' War , Herborn was occupied by Catholic troops in 1626. In a city fire on August 20, 1626, Pasor lost his household and his library. After his application for the theological chair was rejected in the same year, Pasor switched to the Franeker High School and took over the professorship for Greek on November 8, 1626 .

Pasor has published numerous works that deal mainly with the language and grammar of the New Testament .
An important work is the "Lexicon Graeco-Latinum in Novum Domini Nostri Jesu Christi Testamentum" as the first New Testament dictionary, the first edition of which was published in Herborn in 1619. In the following decades, several new editions appeared in numerous European cities.
Other important works that Pasor wrote in Franeker are the annotated Hesiod edition and an edition of the works of Theophrastus of Eresos .
The “Grammatica graeca sacra Novi Testamenti Domini nostri Jesu Christi” published posthumously by his son Matthias is considered the first grammar of New Testament Greek.
