Karl Friedrich Ulrichs

Karl Friedrich Ulrichs (* 1966 in Großwolde ) is a German Protestant theologian . Ulrichs was a lecturer at the Rostock Pedagogical College as well as a lecturer at the University of Rostock and the University of Leipzig . From 2012 to 2018 he was a lecturer at the preacher's seminar in Lutherstadt Wittenberg .

Life

In 1986 Ulrichs began studying theology at the universities of Mainz , Bonn , Basel , Zurich and Tübingen , which he finished in 1993. He then completed a vicariate in Bovenden . After four years as a research assistant for the New Testament and religious education at the University of Siegen , he became pastor in Rinteln .

In 2006 he received his doctorate from the theological faculty of the University of Siegen under the New Testament scholar Michael Bachmann with a thesis on the theology of Paul for a doctorate in theology . His dissertation was published a year later under the title Studies on the Syntagma Pistis Christou and the Pauline understanding of faith and justification in the series Scientific Investigations on the New Testament . After a pastor's office in the parishes of Angerstein and Reyershausen , Ulrichs was pastor in Eddigehausen near Göttingen from spring 2007 to summer 2010 . Since 2007 he was also deputy superintendent and member of the regional synod .

In the summer of 2010 Ulrichs switched to the Rostock Pedagogical College to teach religious education, psychology and social sciences. In 2011 he was given the pedagogical management of this technical school. He also took on teaching positions for the New Testament at the theological faculties of the University of Rostock and the University of Leipzig and has been a lecturer for the New Testament at the theological faculty of the Humboldt University of Berlin since 2019 .

As a candidate for Alliance 90 / The Greens, Ulrichs applied for a seat in the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in September 2011. He also ran for the district council of Güstrow-Bad Doberan.

From 2012 to 2018 he was a lecturer at the Predigerseminar in Wittenberg, then worked as a pastor in the adult education of the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia . After his election on February 2, 2020, he will be pastor of the French Church in Berlin, the Huguenot community on Gendarmenmarkt .

Ulrichs is the author and editor of numerous specialist publications, co-author of the Metzler Lexicon of Christian Thinkers and the Biographical-Bibliographical Church Lexicon . He writes articles for theological journals, including the Göttingen Sermon Meditations and the New Testament Science Journal . Since 2018 he has been the editor of the monthly homiletic books .

Karl Friedrich Ulrichs has three children and is married to the theologian Kathrin Oxen .
