From Russia with Love (English title: From Russia with Love ) is a video game adaptation of the eponymous James Bond film from 1963, which was published in November of 2005. The screenwriter Bruce Feirstein was responsible for the plot of the game .
action
The plot of the game is roughly based on the original film. The beginning of the game ( embassy robbery by Octopus) does not exist in the film. Differences in the other levels there are only limited in the manner in which Bond enters the message to Specter - helicopter off already in the message needs and Grant at a station is provided with an AK-47 is armed. In addition, Grant was given a helper who did not exist in the film. She is portrayed by Maria Menounos .
Missions
- London , Westminster Abbey , Embassy Reception
Bond must save the ambassador's daughter (played by singer Natasha Bedingfield ) from the OCTOPUS minions. At the end of the level, the rocket backpack, known from Fireball, is used.
- Department Q
Bond must now familiarize himself with new weapons in the Q Laboratory's arsenal . Here the player is taught the skills of the player character.
- Labyrinth (Marienbad scene)
As Bond doppelgangers (as in the pre-title sequence of the film) they have to sneak through the hedge maze and take out the guards. Grant pursues and ends up killing the wrong James Bond.
- Istanbul 1
Bond already receives the Aston Martin from Kerim Bey here (which he only receives in the follow-up film Goldfinger ) and has to prove his driving skills. Find Station T.
- Station T
The Turkish secret service department was prepared with bombs by Russians . Bond must free the staff and defuse the bombs.
- Istanbul 2
Bond has to get to the jetty disguised as a Russian soldier. Before doing this, he has to find the clothes by car.
- Underground ( cistern )
Bond and Kerim take the boat under the Russian consulate. On the way, 007 has to take out the patrolling soldiers with the machine gun.
007 has to fend off the attack by the Bulgarians, free hostages and escape the poison gas by means of collected ABC masks.
- Sniper Alley
On a roof, Bond protects Kerim with a sniper rifle , which is supposed to drive the Bulgarian Krilencu out of his hiding place. The finale is the shot like in the film.
Now the editor has to be stolen from the Russian consulate with the help of Tanja.
- Istanbul 3
With the Aston Martin, Bond and Tanja have to get to the station unharmed.
Here comes the duel between Bond and Grant. Unlike in the film, Bond has to kill him at a train station using gun violence. However, his assistant escapes with the editor.
In an OCTOPUS factory, Bond Grant's assistant has to chase away the editor in which he followed her.
Bond has to take the Aston Martin to the boat that is supposed to bring him and Tanja from Yugoslavia.
- Bonus level
- OCTOPUS base
- Airport
There are also two bonus levels that can only be unlocked with points.
Multiplayer
The game has a multiplayer mode in which the villains can also be selected as players. The match types are classic (everyone against everyone), sabotage (a bomb must be placed near the opponent) and aerial combat (like classic, but with a rocket backpack ).
particularities
- In addition to Sean Connery , Daniela Bianchi , Pedro Armendáriz , Robert Shaw , Fred Haggerty , Lotte Lenya , Vladek Sheybal , Desmond Llewelyn and Bernard Lee were also implemented as 3D figures in this game.
- Since there were difficulties with the use of the name of the criminal organization Specter, this was named in Octopus based on the ring of Blofeld and his helpers.
- Sean Connery spoke his 3D ego himself in the original version. Engelbert von Nordhausen can be heard in the German version , as Gert Günther Hoffmann , Connery's spokesman from the film, had died in 1996. Nordhausen had already dubbed missing Connery dialogues for the DVD Sag Never Never .
technology
The game is played from the 3rd person perspective . An improved engine from the previous game 007 - All or Nothing was used. It consists of running and driving scenes. The game was very close to the film in its level of detail. The figure has a line of life that is reduced by enemy blows and weapon impact. In addition, body armor vests of different sizes can be collected, which prevent the life bar from sinking when hit. However, the armor sinks and must be searched again.
