history
The company was initially founded under the name EA Redwood Shores, but then renamed Visceral Games in May 2009 in order to better represent the studio culture, identity and the focus on action-oriented games (according to information provided by the company). The studio was run by Vice President and General Manager Glen Schofield until 2009, before he founded Sledgehammer Games . Several games related to the Godfather and James Bond film franchises were also developed by Visceral Games. In addition, the game developer is responsible for the 2015 Battlefield Hardline, in contrast to the predecessors of the first-person shooter series, which were developed by Dice . In October 2010 it was announced that the studio was working on 4 more titles. The Australian branch Visceral Games Melbourne was closed on September 26, 2011 due to a lack of orders. EA closed the Visceral Games studio in October 2017. Employees of the development studio are partially integrated into other subsidiaries.
