action
The plot is based on the course of the film. It starts with the chase in the lotus and ends in Atlantis. The scenes in Egypt, Austria and England were not taken into account.
Missions
Mission 1: Pursued in Sardinia in the Lotus Esprit
James Bond and Triple X are on their way to the hotel in the Lotus. Here the player should familiarize himself with the controls and avoid police cars and obstacles. At the end you have to go to the boat house and avoid water hazards in the boat. The goal is Atlantis.
Mission 2: Pursued by Stromberg's minions
Bond is now being followed in the lotus by Beißer and his people. Blue cars (the Ford Taunus in the film) and motorcycles must be destroyed. Of course, there are also mines and road obstacles.
Mission 3: With the lotus under water
After destroying Naomi's helicopter in the previous level, you should infiltrate Atlantis underwater again. Stromberg's well-known underwater vehicles from the film represent obstacles here.
Mission 3: Rebellion on the Liparus
As an ally of Bonds, you have to protect against Stromberg's guards with the crosshair Bond and meet them. 007 itself is hanging on a camera ball with a bomb and is driving towards the tanker's command center. He must reach his goal unscathed.
Mission 4: Bond on the way to Atlantis
Again from above you steer Bond on his jet ski towards Atlantis. Similar to the first level.
Mission 5: Atlantis
Here, as in Mission 3, Bond has to switch off the guards in the Liparus corridor using crosshairs. Biters as the final boss can be defeated by hitting their teeth.
technology
The game offers two 2D views, the top view for the driving sequences and an ego-like shoot-'em-up view in two other levels. As a player, you have a lifeline and the vehicles can be upgraded with gimmicks in Q's moving truck. These can only be purchased with the Q-Coins on the street of the level. The installation of special devices makes it necessary to advance to the next level. If you run over passers-by, points will be deducted.
particularities
- The music (including the James Bond theme) was recorded in the style of the time around 1990 and contains a sample (“A Yeah”) that was also found in other rap songs of the time.
- Roger Moore was mentioned in the opening credits of the game, although he was no longer an actor in 1990. Curiously, Moore and Barbara Bach were not used for the cover. Figures were painted with pose and clothing similar to those on the poster.
