Good Girl Gone Bad: The Remixes was the first remix album by the Barbadian pop and R&B singer Rihanna . It was released in Germany on January 27, 2009, and was available in Europe from February 2. It exclusively contained remix versions of the songs from their third studio album Good Girl Gone Bad or the Reloaded version of this album Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded .
Background and publication
Rihanna's first remix album was released on January 27, 2009, about eight months after the release of Good Girl Gone Bad , which is where most of the songs come from. The Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded version of the album was first released in June 2008. On November 23, 2009, the musician's fourth studio album, Rated R, followed .
This remix album did not contain the same songs as the bonus CD of the Good Girl Gone Bad Deluxe Edition , which also only contained remixed versions of their songs, which, however, did not all come from the album mentioned and also contained a few other songs from it .

Commercial win
The album reached number 106 on the Billboard 200 charts, which it held for four weeks. Outside the USA this album could not reach any noteworthy chart positions. By February 27, 2011, Rihanna was able to sell around 54,000 CDs of the album in the USA.
reception
The album received mostly positive reviews. An example:
"If you've worn out the original album and don't know the remixes, the disc will certainly help pass the time before Rihanna's fourth album, especially if any of it is spent on freeways - but the ten best full-length remixes (at 80 minutes) instead of 12 edited remixes (at 45 minutes) would've been the better way to go. "
