Wait Your Turn is a song by Rihanna from the album Rated R . The song was produced by Stargate, Chase & Status, James Fauntleroy II, Takura Tendayi and written by Tor Erik Hermansen, Mikkel S. Eriksen, Stargate and Rihanna himself.

An excerpt from the song entitled "The Wait is Ova" appeared as background music for a Rated R promo video . It was later confirmed that the song was actually titled "Wait Your Turn". The songwriter said the label had told him the song was chosen as the second single on the album, but it was later announced that Hard was chosen as the second single. It was, also through the existing music video, decided to decouple the song as a promo single.
She sang the song as part of her appearance at the 2009 American Music Awards . She also sang the song on February 4, 2010, at the Super Bowl Fan Jam .
Music video
Rihanna made the music video for Wait Your Turn on October 16, 2009. The director was Anthony Mandler , who makes most of Rihanna's videos. The music video had its world premiere on November 3, 2009 on Rihanna's official website. The video shows Rihanna in black and white scenes. For the music video, Rihanna was inspired by the hip-hop videos of the 90s, including The Notorious BIG , Wu-Tang Clan and Nas .
Charts
After the release of Rated R , Wait Your Turn started receiving a growing number of downloads. The single made it to the top 5 in Austria and became a big hit there according to MTV. The single made it into the UK Singles Chart at number 45. The song also reached number 32 on the Irish Singles Charts . Wait Your Turn also placed 82 on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart. The promo single sold around 25,000 copies in the UK. The song reached number 10 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 , which corresponds to number 110 on the Hot 100.
