background

With the EP, Cyrus stayed true to her usual pop-rock style. Originally August 31, 2009 was planned as the publication date of the work, but it was already offered for sale in various stores on August 28, 2009, whereby this date prevailed as the date of publication. From October 16, 2009, an international version of the EP was released outside the United States, which also contains the song The Climb and has a different cover. The song Kicking and Screaming was originally sung by Ashlee Simpson , who released it in 2005 on her album I Am Me .
