Background information
After completing the album Can't Be Tamed, Miley Cyrus wants to take a musical break in order to find herself musically. Cyrus has indicated that her music doesn't inspire her as she imagines and hopes Can't Be Tamed will be her last pop album. “The more I make music that doesn't truly inspire me, the more I feel like I'm blending in with everyone else,” she said (German: “The more often I make music that doesn't really inspire me, the more I feel I feel as if I were adjusting to everyone else ”). Cyrus is currently more interested in rock music . She later admitted that Can't Be Tamed included music in the style of pop singer Lady Gaga . "It was a natural progression for her," said Abbey Konowitch, manager of Hollywood Records (German: "It was a natural progression for her"). He also said the album contained more dance-pop than originally planned.
The album was first released in Germany on June 19, 2010. The album was only released in the USA two days later. In contrast to Cyrus 'and Hollywood Records' previous albums, Can't Be Tamed was licensed with a so-called "day-and-date" format, due to a new licensing agreement with Universal Music Group in Europe. Konowitch presented the album to representatives of the Universal Music Group in Europe before its release to talk about the new license agreement. The standard edition contains only the audio CD, the deluxe edition contains an audio CD and a DVD. The DVD includes additional never-before-seen scenes from Cyrus' concert at The O2 Arena in London , which was her first stop on her 2009 Wonder World Tour . It contains nineteen live songs and backstage interviews with Cyrus. The cover was completed on May 7, 2010.
admission
Can't Be Tamed was recorded during Cyrus' Wonder World Tour . In December 2009, recording began in London , England. Album producer John Shanks , who also produced Cyrus' hit single The Climb , recorded the album with Cyrus. He flew with her to London, where the songs were recorded with Cyrus. Then they returned to Los Angeles , California to complete the songs.
All producers who worked with Cyrus were mentioned on the album - Antonina Armato and Tim James , both of whom produced Cyrus' hits See You Again and 7 Things . Cyrus described the collaboration with Armato during the recording process as follows: “I called Antonina 'Mommy' because she is like my second mother. Nobody can ever understand how we relate to one another. I've been working with her for four years now and I was happy every day when I went to the studio, we sat around ate cupcakes and I could tell her everything that bothered me. "
