Run It! is the debut single by American musician Chris Brown . The rapper Juelz Santana appeared as a guest musician. The song was released on June 30, 2005, and after a few weeks it reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in November 2005 , where it remained for five consecutive weeks.

background

Brown was discovered in his homeland at the age of 13 by a team of producers called Hitmission Records . This helped him to various demo recordings until he finally signed a recording contract with Jive Records in December 2004 . In February 2005, Brown began recording his debut album, which was released in November 2005.

Music video

The music video was shot by Erik White . It shows Brown dancing in a gym. There he also meets a girl he is drawn to and whom he wants to dance to. After a short time, security guards arrive in the gym and have the entire building cleared. When everyone has left the room, the security guards themselves begin to dance. The video premiered in August 2005.

success

reception

In Contactmusic think it was that the song was a "consistently fulfilled with Bass" track. In addition, Brown was compared to the R&B musician Usher and wrote that if he is "the king of gentle storytellers, Brown is the prince of club anthems". In another review, the song was described as an "umpteenth variant of Usher's Yeah ", although the song also fits Brown's marketing strategy. The reviewer was ultimately unimpressed by the title, even if he gave the singer development opportunities. The young age is to be seen very clearly.
