The song was written by Brown, McCall, Amber Streeter, Lonny Bereal, Whitacre and Henderson, while Tha Bizness appeared as producers. Originally, the title, along with a song called " Biggest Fan ", was to serve as the lead single from Brown's fifth studio album, Fortune . After the single " Turn Up the Music " premiered in January, however , it was announced that this would be the album's first single, while "Strip" was just a buzz single from the album and a release of the mixtape. On April 5, 2012, Brown published a remix of the song on the Internet, on which McCall can also be heard.

Music video

The music video was shot in November 2011, directed by Colin Tilley , who was also responsible for the visualization of the songs “ Deuces ”, “ Yeah 3x ” and “ Look at Me Now ”. Before the clip was released, there was a picture showing Brown surrounded by Christmas lights. The video finally premiered on December 15, 2011.

The clip consists mainly of scenes in which both McCall and Brown are guests at a party, and individual sequences in which Brown sings in a room which is lit by Christmas carols. You can also see him standing on a mountain in shorts and jacket.

Commercial win

In the Billboard Hot 100 , the song rose to number 85 on the charts and later reached its highest position at number 37. In the list of Hot R & B / Hip-Hop Songs in the USA, the track reached position 3. In the United Kingdom, the single only climbed to number 78 and stayed for a week.
