Pecka (German Petzka ) is a Městys with 1254 inhabitants (January 1, 2004) in the Czech Republic . It is 407 m above sea level. M. in a hilly landscape south of the Giant Mountains between Nová Paka and Dvůr Králové .
history
The history of Petzka, first mentioned in 1322, is closely related to Pecka Castle . In the Thirty Years War earned Albrecht of Wallenstein Pecka and gave the place he founded the Carthusian Monastery Karthaus . Today Pecka is a local resort. In 2007 the status of Městys was renewed.
